Abstract

The number of foreign tourists who visited the Riau Islands Province in February 2016 reached 165,385 people, an increase of 15.59 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month which reached 143,078 people. Compared to February 2015, foreign tourists visited in February 2016 decreased by 0.07 percent.

Foreign tourists visiting Riau Islands Province in February 2016, amounting to 72.77 percent entered through the entrance in Batam City with 120,351 tourists.

Foreign tourists visiting Riau Islands Province in February 2016 were dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 48.78 percent of the number of foreign tourists in February 2016.

The room occupancy rate (TPK) of star hotels in Riau Islands Province in February 2016 reached an average of 47.45 percent, up 7.67 points compared to the January 2016 TPK of 39.78 percent.

The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in Riau Islands Province in February 2016 was 2.04 days, or an increase of 0.03 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in January 2016.
