Abstract

The number of foreign tourists who visited Riau Islands Province in March 2016 reached 167,377 people, an increase of 1.20 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month which reached 165,385 people. Compared to March 2015, foreign tourist visits in March 2016 experienced an increase of 1.72 percent.

Tourists who visited Riau Islands Province in March 2016, amounted to 74.88 percent entering through the entrance in Batam City with 125,324 tourists.

Foreign tourists visiting Riau Islands Province in March 2016 were dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 55.46 percent of the number of foreign tourists in March 2016.

The room occupancy rate (TPK) of star hotels in Riau Islands Province in March 2016 reached an average of 49.39 percent, up 1.94 points compared to the February 2016 TPK of 47.45 percent.

The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in Riau Islands Province in March 2016 was 1.76 days, or a decrease of 0.28 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in February 2016.
