• The number of foreign tourists or tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province in December 2017 reached 261,525 visits, an increase of 55.57 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month, where the number of foreign tourists in November 2017 was 168,113 visits. When compared to December 2016, foreign tourist visits in December 2017 experienced an increase of 23.52 percent.
• Foreign tourists visiting Riau Islands Province in January-December 2017 were dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 51.17 percent of the total number of foreign tourists in January-December 2017.
• Cumulatively, January-December 2017, the number of foreign tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province reached 2,074,534 visits, up 8.04 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visited in the same period the previous year which amounted to 1,920,232 visits.
• The room occupancy rate (TPK) of star hotels in Riau Islands Province in December 2017 reached an average of 59.91 percent or an increase of 1.56 points compared to the November 2017 TPK of 58.35 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star hotels in Riau Islands Province in December 2017 was 1.78 days, down 0.13 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in November 2017.
