• The number of foreign tourists or tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province in August 2018 reached 236,436 visits, an increase of 10.55 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month, where the number of foreign tourists in July 2018 was 213,876 visits. When compared with July 2017, foreign tourist visits in August 2018 also increased, which amounted to 31.73 percent.
• Foreign tourists visiting Riau Islands Province in January-August 2018 are dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 47.40 percent of the total number of foreign tourists in January-August 2018.
• Cumulatively, from January to August 2018 the number of foreign tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province reached 1,662,476 visits, up 22.13 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visited in the same period the previous year which amounted to 1,361,223 visits.
• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Riau Islands Province in August 2018 reached an average of 48.62 percent or an increase of 2.53 points compared to July 2018's TPK of 46.09 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star hotels in Riau Islands Province in August 2018 was 1.76 days, up 0.09 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in July 2018.
