Abstract

The population of Bintan Regency in 2022, based on projections from the 2020 population census, is 165,781 people, with a population of 15 years and over of 124,419 people. An increase of 1,900 people (1.55 percent) compared to the situation in August 2021 (122,519 people). The total workforce in Bintan Regency in August 2022 reached 82,163 people, an increase of 4,739 people (6.12 percent) compared to the workforce in August 2021, which was 77,424 people. The number of working residents in August 2022 was 76,483 people, an increase of 5,735 people (8.11 percent) when compared to the situation in August 2021 (70,748 people).The number of open unemployed in August 2022 reached 5,680 people, a decrease of 996 people compared to the situation in August 2021 (6,676 people). The open unemployment rate (TPT) in the Riau Islands in August 2022 reached 6.91 percent, down compared to the TPT in August 2021 of 8.62 percent.
The services sector is the sector that absorbs the most workers, this sector is able to absorb 49.24 percent. The Manufacturing Sector was able to absorb 27.84 percent and the Agricultural Sector was able to absorb 22.92 percent of the workforce.
