• The number of foreign tourists or tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province in September 2018 reached 207,841 visits, decreased 12.09 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month, where the number of foreign tourists in August 2018 was 236,436 visits. When compared with September 2017, foreign tourists visiting September 2018 actually increased, which amounted to 20.72 percent.
• Tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province in January-September 2018 were dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 47.68 percent of the total number of foreign tourists in January-September 2018.
• Cumulatively, January-September 2018 the number of foreign tourists visiting the Riau Islands Province reached 1,807,317 visits, up 20.67 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visited in the same period the previous year which amounted to 1,533,384 visits.
• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Riau Islands Province in September 2018 reached an average of 56.63 percent or an increase of 8.01 points compared to the August 2018 TPK of 48.62 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in Riau Islands Province in September 2018 is 1.93 days or up 0.17 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in August 2018.
